Prohibited Items

Introduction

To protect our users and comply with local, national, and international laws, certain items are strictly prohibited from being sent or carried using the GetYourStuff platform.

GetYourStuff is a peer-to-peer platform and does not transport items itself. All responsibility rests with the users to ensure that items comply with this policy, airline rules, customs regulations, and applicable laws.

1. Illegal or Restricted Items

Items that are illegal under any applicable law, including but not limited to:

• Drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances
• Stolen goods or items obtained unlawfully
• Any item prohibited by local, national, or international law

2. Weapons and Dangerous Items

• Firearms, ammunition, and firearm components
• Explosives, fireworks, or flammable materials
• Knives, tasers, pepper spray, or similar weapons
• Military, police, or law-enforcement equipment

3. Hazardous Materials

• Chemicals, toxic substances, or radioactive materials
• Pressurized containers (gas cylinders, aerosols restricted by airlines)
• Batteries or electronic items restricted by airline safety rules

4. Perishable or Temperature-Sensitive Items

• Food items requiring refrigeration or special handling
• Items likely to spoil, leak, or emit strong odors during transport

5. Living Organisms

• Animals, insects, plants, seeds, or biological materials
• Human or animal remains

6. Counterfeit or Intellectual Property-Violating Goods

The following items are strictly prohibited:

• Fake or replica branded products
• Counterfeit goods presented as genuine
• Pirated software, media, or digital content
• Illegally copied books, manuals, training materials, or research papers
• USB drives, hard disks, CDs, or DVDs containing pirated software, movies, music, or games
• Forged, fake, or altered documents, including but not limited to:
  • Fake passports, visas, or residence permits
  • Fake identification cards or certificates
  • Counterfeit warranty cards or brand authenticity documents
• Any items violating trademark, copyright, or intellectual property laws

Important Clarification

This restriction does not apply to legitimate personal or business documents that users are legally allowed to possess and transport, such as:

• Personal letters
• Contracts or invoices
• Academic or employment documents
• Government-issued documents belonging to the user (when legally permitted)

7. Highly Valuable Items

Unless explicitly agreed upon and insured by the users:

• Cash or cash equivalents
• Precious metals, gemstones, or luxury watches
• High-value electronics or collectibles

GetYourStuff does not provide insurance for transported items.

8. Sensitive Documents & Financial Instruments

• Passports or national identity cards belonging to third parties
• Confidential, classified, or restricted documents
• Credit cards, checks, bonds, or other financial instruments

9. Items Restricted by Customs or Airlines

• Items restricted or banned for import or export
• Items exceeding airline baggage limits
• Items requiring permits, licenses, or special declarations

10. Any Other Unsafe or Non-Compliant Items

GetYourStuff reserves the right to restrict or remove any item that poses a safety, legal, or compliance risk to users or the platform.

11. User Responsibility & Liability

• Senders must accurately describe items and disclose all contents.
• Carriers must inspect items before accepting transport.
• Users accept full responsibility for confiscation, delays, fines, or legal consequences resulting from prohibited or non-compliant items.

GetYourStuff is not liable for any loss, damage, or legal issues related to prohibited or restricted items.
