Introduction
These Delivery Guidelines explain how items should be prepared, accepted, transported, and delivered when using the GetYourStuff platform.
GetYourStuff is a peer-to-peer platform and does not transport items itself. Senders and Carriers are solely responsible for complying with these guidelines, airline rules, customs requirements, and applicable laws.
1. General Principles
- All deliveries are arranged directly between users
- GetYourStuff does not guarantee delivery, timing, safety, or compensation
- Users must act honestly, responsibly, and lawfully at all times
2. Sender Responsibilities
Senders must:
- Provide accurate and complete item descriptions, including size, weight, contents, and value
- Ensure items comply with the Prohibited Items Policy
- Package items securely to prevent damage, leakage, or safety risks
- Clearly disclose if items are fragile, valuable, or require special handling
- Agree on delivery details (handover location, time, compensation if any) before handing over items
Warning: Misrepresentation of item contents may result in account suspension or legal consequences.
3. Carrier Responsibilities
Carriers must:
- Inspect items before accepting them
- Refuse any item that appears unsafe, illegal, or misrepresented
- Comply with all airline, airport, customs, immigration, and border regulations
- Carry only items they are legally permitted to transport
- Deliver items as agreed with the Sender
Carriers are encouraged to refuse any item they are uncomfortable transporting.
4. Packaging Requirements
- Items must be securely packed, sealed, and protected
- No loose, leaking, or exposed contents
- Fragile items should be clearly labeled
- Packaging must comply with airline baggage rules
GetYourStuff is not responsible for damage caused by improper packaging.
5. Customs & Cross-Border Transport
For international deliveries:
- Senders are responsible for providing accurate customs declarations
- Carriers must declare items when required by customs authorities
- Duties, taxes, or fees are the responsibility of the Sender unless agreed otherwise
- Items may be inspected, delayed, or confiscated by authorities
GetYourStuff has no control over customs processes or decisions.
6. Compensation & Payments
- Any compensation or reward is agreed directly between users
- GetYourStuff does not process payments, hold funds, or guarantee earnings
- All payment-related disputes are between Senders and Carriers
7. Insurance & Liability
- GetYourStuff does not provide insurance for transported items
- Users are responsible for arranging insurance if needed
- GetYourStuff is not liable for loss, theft, damage, delays, or non-delivery
8. Handover & Delivery Confirmation
Users should:
- Agree on clear handover and delivery points
- Confirm receipt promptly upon delivery
- Communicate issues directly and respectfully
9. Disputes & Issues
- Users must attempt to resolve disputes directly
- GetYourStuff may assist at its discretion but does not act as an arbitrator
- Serious violations may result in account suspension or termination
10. Safety Reminder
If at any time a user feels unsafe or uncertain:
- Do not proceed with the delivery
- Report the issue to Info@gettingyourstuff.com
